William Kelley for Rober Parker
The 2015 Bollingers Brut La Grande Année Rosé was disgorged in May last year at seven grams per litre dosage. With deep aromas of orchard fruit, blood orange, mandarin peel and peach, mixed with nuances of coffee, praline and fino sherry, it is medium to full-bodied, pillowy and layered, with a broad attack that leads into a winey palate framed by a high level of structuring dry extract that is evident in the spicy, nutty and penetrating finish. Given the skin maturity and inherent structure of the year, the Bollinger team decided to include only 4.5% still red wine in the blend, a comparatively low percentage.
