Château d'Issan Grand Cru Classé 2017
Description
Description
The château got its name from the Essenault family (Issan for short), who ran the winery for five generations. Shortly after the famous classification of 1855, which identified it as 3émes Grand Cru Classé, Château d'Issan was invited to the Austrian court. The d'Issan was the favorite wine of Emperor Franz-Joseph. It was he who coined the motto of the winery, which is still engraved above the door of the castle: "Regum mensis aris que deorum" (For the table of the kings and the altar of the gods). Château d'Issan is located in the heart of the Margaux appellation, a truly privileged location, which explains the exceptional quality of its wines. Everything is organized so that each plot can be treated individually in order to harvest the best quality grapes to be able to
