Grand Cru Classé
The 2014 D'Issan has a crisp, pure bouquet, quite dense and restrained like the 2014 Marquis d'Alesme Becker, gradually revealing blackberry, soy and cedar scents, almost like a Saint Julien in style. On the palate it is medium-bodied with a hint of herbs on the opening but there is plenty of fruit behind it. I like the classic style of this d'Issan, the sharpness of the Cabernet driving the structured and (for Margaux) quite masculine finish. This is beginning to show the class I imagined and it may deserve a higher score in the future
