Champagne Frédéric Savart

Champagne Frédéric Savart is a small grower estate in Écueil on the Montagne de Reims and is regarded as one of the most exciting addresses for characterful grower Champagne. The vines, mostly rooted in Premier Cru sites and dominated by Pinot Noir with a little Chardonnay, are farmed close to nature with a strong focus on soil life and low yields. In the cellar, Savart relies on gentle pressing, fermentation partly in wood, long lees ageing and very low dosage. The result is exceptionally precise, energetic Champagne with fine, dense perlage, cool red and light fruit, pronounced chalky minerality and great tension. The individual cuvées clearly express the character of their sites and vintages and particularly appeal to Champagne lovers seeking purist, terroir-driven grower Champagne with collector potential.

Origin in Focus

Champagne

Champagne in north-eastern France is the home of the world’s most famous sparkling wine. The cool climate, limestone and chalk soils, and a long tradition of bottle fermentation shape its unmistakable style: tension, finesse and characteristic minerality. The main grape varieties are Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Meunier.
