R. López de Heredia Viña Tondonia Reserva Blanco 2011
Description
Description
The family-run Bodega López Heredia is one of the oldest and most traditional in Rioja. In 2019, the winery took third place in the "World's Best Vineyards" competition. The winery has three vineyards, of which Tondonia is the most famous. At an altitude of 450 meters, it winds along the river Ebro. The grapes from the old vines produce remarkable wines of the highest quality. One feature in particular underlines the philosophy of the winery: the wines are given plenty of time. They are stored for years in barrels from the company's own cooperage and the wine is only released when it is perfectly matured. The 2009 Gran Reserva Blanco matured for 6 years in neutral old oak barrels.
