Description

France / Bordeaux / Médoc / Margaux

Built in Tudor style over 200 years ago, the Cantenac Brown estate is considered the most exceptional château in the Médoc; it is more like a Scottish castle with its extensive English-style garden. José Sanfins, responsible for wine production, cultivates the magnificent terroir of the vineyards sustainably and with great respect for the soil, the vines and their surroundings. The grapes from each plot are harvested by hand and vinified separately. The diversity of the terroir and sustainable cultivation create ideal conditions for the vines, from whose grapes one of the best Margaux wines is produced year after year.

Château Cantenac-Brown

Château Cantenac-Brown is a renowned Margaux estate whose historic Tudor architecture is as distinctive as its gravel-rich soils on the Cantenac rises.

The vineyards are Cabernet-focused, with Cabernet Sauvignon alongside Merlot and a little Cabernet Franc/Petit Verdot, and are finely divided into parcels, allowing each site to be cultivated and vinified separately. In the cellar, the estate relies on precise, gentle extraction and restrained ageing in French oak in order to preserve fragrance, finesse and the typical Margaux tannins.

Bordeaux

Origin in Focus

Bordeaux

Bordeaux is one of the world’s most renowned wine regions – a name that has stood for elegance, diversity and ageing potential for centuries. Gravel, clay and limestone soils alternate, allowing fine nuances in the wines that reflect both terroir and craftsmanship.

Bordeaux is typically known for blends in which grape varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc work together harmoniously.

Stylistically, red Bordeaux wines are defined by a balance of fruit, structure and freshness. The white wines – usually made from Sauvignon Blanc, Sémillon and sometimes Muscadelle – range from crisp and citrus-driven to creamy and complex.
