Description

France / Bordeaux / Médoc / Saint-Estèphe

In two centuries, three owner families shaped the history of Château Montrose. With passion and tireless pursuit of the best possible quality, they have produced many legendary vintages. In 2006, the third generation of the Charmolüe family sold the winery to Martin and Olivier Bouygues. Both loved the wines of Château Montrose, they were aware of the potential of the location and the unique terroir. The spectacular reconstruction of Montrose began under her direction. Today, the multi-generational team at the winery is managed by Melissa Bouygues and Hervé Berland. Made to the same rigorous standards as the Grand Vin, from grapes grown in the same vineyard, La Dame de Montrose is the château's second wine.

Château Montrose

Over two centuries, three owner families have shaped the history of Château Montrose. With passion and a tireless pursuit of the best possible quality, they have created many legendary vintages.

In 2006, the third generation of the Charmolüe family sold the winery to Martin and Olivier Bouygues. Both loved the wines of Château Montrose, they were aware of the potential of the site and the unique terroir. Under their leadership, the spectacular reconstruction of Montrose began.

The production buildings were renovated over seven years. Today they use 50 percent less energy than before the renovation. Today, the winery's cross-generational team is led by Melissa Bouygues and Hervé Berland. Château Montrose owns 95 hectares of vineyards in one piece around the château.

There are no bad vintages at this chateau. If the grapes do not meet the requirements, the yield is reduced without compromise and less is produced.
