The 2014 Montrose shows lovely aromas of blackberries, raspberries, cedar and orange sorbet that are very pure and elegant. On the palate it is medium-bodied with supple tannins, very precise freshness and layers of crisp black fruit, which at the moment is still infused with vanilla from the new oak. This will settle with time. What you have here is a very precise, complex, almost sensual Montrose that will delight for many years to come. Highly recommended - one of the best Left Bank wines of this vintage.

Château Montrose

Over two centuries, three owner families have shaped the history of Château Montrose. With passion and a tireless pursuit of the best possible quality, they have created many legendary vintages.

In 2006, the third generation of the Charmolüe family sold the winery to Martin and Olivier Bouygues. Both loved the wines of Château Montrose, they were aware of the potential of the site and the unique terroir. Under their leadership, the spectacular reconstruction of Montrose began.

The production buildings were renovated over seven years. Today they use 50 percent less energy than before the renovation. Today, the winery's cross-generational team is led by Melissa Bouygues and Hervé Berland. Château Montrose owns 95 hectares of vineyards in one piece around the château.

There are no bad vintages at this chateau. If the grapes do not meet the requirements, the yield is reduced without compromise and less is produced.
