Description
Description
France / Bordeaux / Médoc / Margaux
The estate "La Mothe de Margaux" (the Margaux Hill) has been known since the 12th century. In 1976, Andre Mentzelopoulos acquired Château Margaux from the Ginestet family and invested heavily in the vineyards, cellars, and oak barrels. Today, his daughter Corinne Mentzelopoulos manages the Château. In 2003, she was able to buy back the majority stake in Margaux that had been held by the Agnelli Group, becoming the sole owner. With great dedication, she and her cellar master go to immense lengths to achieve that tiny extra bit of quality that makes their Margaux one of the finest quality wines of the Médoc. The Premier Grand Cru Classé estate is also known as the "crown jewel of the Médoc" and its wine is considered a prime example of elegance and finesse.
