Description
Description
In 1990, Domaines Barons de Rothschild acquired Château L'Évangile from the Ducasse family, promising to continue managing the estate at the same high standard. This was followed by significant investments in the extensive renovation of the cellar, the introduction of a second wine, and the partial replanting of the vineyard. The vineyard now spans 22 hectares and consists of sandy loam soil with pure gravel on a subsoil containing iron deposits. The grape varieties comprise Merlot (80%), which contributes to the wine's fruity taste, body, and distinctive smoothness, and "Bouchet", the local name for Cabernet Franc (20%), which provides finesse and structure.
