Description
Description
France / Bordeaux / Pomerol / Libournais
In 1990, Domaines Barons de Rothschild (Lafite) acquired L'Évangile from the Ducasse family, promising to continue managing the estate to the same high standards. With a project to restore and partially renew the vineyard launched in 1998, the quality was even further enhanced. The vineyard now spans 22 hectares and consists of sandy loam soil with pure gravel over a subsoil containing iron residues. The grape varieties include Merlot, which contributes to the wine's fruity taste and body as well as its distinctive smoothness, and "Bouchet", the local name for Cabernet Franc, which provides finesse and structure.
