Premier Grand Cru Classé

The bouquet of the 2016 Château La Mondotte is very aromatic, very pure with luscious aromas of red cherry, blueberry and a hint of sloe, the new oak is discreet and perhaps allows the terroir to shine through more than the 2015 did last year. The palate is silky smooth at the start but beneath the silkiness there is a considerable tannic backbone that is certainly felt more towards the finish which has a slight pull.
