Ferrer & Asociados | Château La Fleur-Pétrus Like all châteaux in Pomerol, Château La Fleur-Pétrus is not classified, yet it is considered one of the best châteaux in this appellation. Located directly next to its two namesakes, Château Lafleur and Château Pétrus, it lies on the excellent gravel and clay soils of the Pomerol plateau. Today, the château is managed by Christian Moueix, the third generation of the family. In 2008, he was named Man of the Year by the prestigious wine magazine Decanter for his tireless pursuit of perfection in expressing the terroir in his wines, making him an inspiration for winemakers worldwide.

Château La Fleur-Pétrus

Château La Fleur-Pétrus is a renowned Pomerol estate on the high plateau between Pétrus and Lafleur. The vines – mainly Merlot with a proportion of Cabernet Franc – are rooted in a mosaic of gravel, clay and iron-rich ‘crasse de fer’, which encourages low yields, high natural concentration and cool tension. Precise parcel work, selective hand harvesting and gentle, parcel-by-parcel vinification with measured use of oak shape the style: deep, dark fruit, violet and graphite notes, silky, tightly knit tannins and a long, elegant line. A classic, characterful Pomerol with excellent ageing potential.
