Like all châteaux in Pomerol, Château La Fleur-Pétrus is not classified and is nevertheless one of the best châteaux in this appellation. In the immediate vicinity of its two namesakes, Château Lafleur and Château Pétrus, it lies on the excellent gravel and clay soils of the Pomerol plateau. Today the château is managed by Christian Moueix in the third generation. In 2008 he was named Man of the Year by the prestigious wine magazine Decanter - for his relentless pursuit of perfection in expressing the terroir in his wines, becoming an inspiration to winemakers around the world.
