Description

France / Bordeaux / Médoc / Margaux

The vineyards of Château Giscours lie at the heart of the 400-hectare estate in the Margaux appellation. Here on the left bank of the Gironde, the vines, which are up to 70 years old, grow on gentle slopes with deep gravel. This terroir lends itself particularly well to Cabernet Sauvignon, which makes up the bulk of the Grand Vin's cuveé. Classified as Grand Cru, the wine from Château Giscours is a remarkable representative of the elegance and finesse of the great wines of this prestigious terroir. The winery has been owned by the Dutchman Eric Albada Jelgersma for many years. After immense expenditure in the vineyard and cellar, Château Giscours is now equipped with the latest cellar technology and the 43 plots of vineyard are in the process of being converted to biodynamic viticulture.
