Lisa Perrotti-Brown for Robert Parker
The 2017 D'Armailhac is medium to deep garnet purple in color and jumps out of the glass with bold aromas of baked plums, redcurrant jelly and crème de cassis, as well as hints of violets, dark chocolate and fragrant earth. On the palate it is medium-bodied, full of red and black fruits, framed by ripe, grainy tannins and plenty of freshness, with a long and lively finish.
