Château d'Armailhac 2017

Château d’Armailhac is one of Pauillac’s traditional estates and has belonged for decades to the Rothschild family of Mouton Rothschild. The property lies next to some of the Médoc’s most famous sites and benefits from deep gravel soils that provide ideal conditions for Cabernet Sauvignon.

A high proportion of old vines, including a notable amount of Cabernet Franc – rare in the Médoc – gives the wines additional aromatic complexity. In the cellar, modern technology is combined with classic Bordeaux craftsmanship, producing wines that are typically Pauillac while also showing plenty of charm early on.

Today, Château d’Armailhac stands for reliable quality, elegant structure and excellent value within the famous Premier Cru neighbourhood.

Stylistically, red Bordeaux wines are defined by a balance of fruit, structure and freshness. The white wines – usually made from Sauvignon Blanc, Sémillon and sometimes Muscadelle – range from crisp and citrus-driven to creamy and complex.
