Lisa Perrotti-Brown for Robert Parker
Deep garnet purple in color, the 2016 Château d'Armailhac opens with convivial aromas of crème de cassis, blackberry pie and mulberries, with hints of chocolate, roses and charcoal and notes of dried sage. On the palate it is medium-bodied and has a rock-solid framework of firm, grainy tannins and a wonderful freshness that finishes long and earthy.
