Château Coutet

Château Coutet is one of the great historic estates of Barsac and a defining producer of noble sweet wines in Sauternes. With roots reaching back to the 13th century, it is one of the oldest estates in the entire Bordelais, and this long tradition is reflected in the precision and elegance of its wines.

Coutet’s terroir is unique: limestone-rich soils and Barsac’s characteristically cooler microclimate give the wines their unmistakable freshness, tension and citrus minerality. Sémillon dominates the vineyards, supported by Sauvignon Blanc and Muscadelle, which contribute aromatic clarity and fine floral accents.

Château Coutet is known for its luminous, feather-light interpretation of noble sweetness: intense, yet never heavy, carried by elegant botrytis, vibrant acidity and great aromatic precision.

Today Château Coutet belongs to the top group of Premier Cru Classé estates in Barsac – an estate that combines tradition, terroir and fine handwork into radiant sweet-wine artistry.

Bordeaux

Origin in Focus

Bordeaux

Bordeaux is one of the world’s most renowned wine regions – a name that has stood for elegance, diversity and ageing potential for centuries. Gravel, clay and limestone soils alternate, allowing fine nuances in the wines that reflect both terroir and craftsmanship.

Bordeaux is typically known for blends in which grape varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc work together harmoniously.

Stylistically, red Bordeaux wines are defined by a balance of fruit, structure and freshness. The white wines – usually made from Sauvignon Blanc, Sémillon and sometimes Muscadelle – range from crisp and citrus-driven to creamy and complex.
