Description

France / Bordeaux / Pauillac

Château Batailley is one of the oldest châteaux in the region. The name of the château dates back to a decisive battle in 1452, in which the French Crown decisively repelled the English troops and thus recaptured the neighbouring Château Latour. This marked the beginning of the end of 300 years of English rule over Aquitaine. Wine was first cultivated on this historic soil in the 16th century. The 5-hectare park was laid out by Napoleon III's architect around 1850. Especially in great vintages, the château shows its full finesse and elegance. The 2015 vintage, alongside the 1961 and 2010, is one of the best Batailleys.
