The Mazzei family has been producing wines of impressive quality for 24 generations. From the 2017 vintage, the winegrowing family decided to express the biodiversity of their terroirs by developing three Chianti Classico Gran Selezione separately, each with their own characteristics. The Badióla grapes come from vineyards located 570 m above sea level, making them among the highest in Chianti Classico. The municipality of Radda in Chianti, where the vineyards are located, benefits from an overall cooler climate and, above all, from low daytime temperatures. This extends the ripening time of the grapes, which are only harvested in October - this creates a Sangiovese with great depth and tension.
