Description

Italy / Trentino

For more than three centuries, San Leonardo has been owned by the renowned Guerrieri Gonzaga family, and their passion for outstanding quality is reflected in all of the winery's products. The inspiration for San Leonardo's unique grappa bottles comes from a beautiful water carafe from 1800, which Marchese Carlo Guerrieri Gonzaga discovered in the attic of the historic Villa Gresti. Our San Leonardo Grappa is produced in extremely limited quantities from the carefully selected pomace of the estate's vineyards. Distillation takes place in traditional steam-powered stills to ensure that every drop preserves the full aroma and essence of the noble grapes.

Origin in Focus

Trentino

Trentino in northern Italy is shaped by an alpine climate, steep slopes and cool nights – ideal conditions for fresh, aromatic wines. It is especially known for elegant sparkling wines made by the traditional method as well as crisp white wines from Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio and Müller-Thurgau. Among the reds, Pinot Nero and Teroldego dominate: the former fine and fragrant, the latter dark, spicy and characterful. The combination of elevation, Dolomite rock and careful viticulture results in clear, precise wines with lively acidity and mountain character.
