The Tenuta San Guido winery is located ten kilometers from the coast in Tuscany. Here Marchese Mario Incisa della Rochetta settled. Even as a student, he had the dream of making a noble wine, modeled on the great Bordeaux, and began experimenting with French grape varieties. Until 1960 the wines were only drunk at the winery. It was only at the insistence of his son Nicolò and his famous nephew Piero Antinori that the Marchese was persuaded to market the wine. Since then, the wines from Tenuta San Guido have been at the top of the world and the winery has long since become a legend. Le Difese is the little brother of the icon Sassicaia with a top Peris/pleasure ratio.
