Description

Patrick Piuze Petit Chablis Fortis 2024 is based on old Chardonnay vines from selected plots around Chablis, whose sparse Kimmeridgian limestone soil provides a clear mineral character. On the nose, there are notes of citrus, green apple, and a delicate chalky tone. On the palate, the wine is taut and precise, with a fresh acidity and a saline tension that subtly emphasizes the classic character of this origin.

Patrick Piuze

Patrick Piuze, a Canadian winemaker who chose Chablis as his home, has quickly earned a place among the region’s leading producers. He does not own vineyards, but works with selected partners whose parcels he supervises meticulously. His focus is on clear, precise single-site wines that reflect the pure terroir of Kimmeridgian limestone. Piuze relies on hand-harvested grapes, restrained vinification and spontaneous fermentation, producing Chardonnay of remarkable tension, freshness and minerality. His wines, from village sites to Grand Crus, show finesse, saline depth and a crystalline style that makes Piuze one of the most exciting interpreters of modern Chablis.

Burgund

Origin in Focus

Burgundy

The Burgundy (Bourgogne) wine region is shaped by small parcels and historic vineyards. The focus here is on two grape varieties – Pinot Noir and Chardonnay – which reflect soil, climate and craftsmanship with exceptional transparency.

Between Dijon and Mâcon, a narrow band of vineyards stretches for around 250 km, each with its own distinctive character.
