Description
Germany / Nahe / Kirschheck
The large Kirschheck site is the oldest documented site in the Nahe. Wild cherries used to grow here before the slopes were planted with vines. The Riesling vines of Martin Korrell are on a 3.5 hectare plot. The soils consist on the one hand of dark gray mudstone and slate clay from the Permian, but also of loess and loess loam beds. The steep slope and the slate, which allows only low yields, lead to easy warming of the soil and ensure a good water supply. Ideal conditions for a long maturing period. Martin Korrell produces elegant Rieslings with a distinctly mineral character from the grapes from this parcel.
