Description

France / Burgundy / Côte de Beaune / Corton

The world-renowned Christian hospice in the town of Beaune on the Côte d'Or in Burgundy was founded in 1443 for charitable purposes. Since then, the income from the vineyards has been used for the poor and for the care of the elderly and sick. Through donations and inheritances in the sub-regions of Côte de Beaune and Côte de Nuits, the vineyard areas steadily increased. In 1534, Charlotte Dumay donated valuable parcels in the Le Corton region, whose wines are now among the longest-lived and most structured of the Hospice de Beaune. The grapes for this cuvée come from 24 individual parcels of the Corton-Renardes and Corton-Bressandes vineyards

Hospices de Beaune

The Hospice de Beaune estate is a symbol of French wine tradition and one of Burgundy’s most important institutions. Founded in 1443 as a charitable foundation for those in need, it combines history, social commitment and outstanding wine culture. The vineyards in the Côte de Beaune produce Pinot Noir and Chardonnay of exceptional quality. Its red wines captivate with elegance and depth, while the white wines shine with freshness and minerality. The famous annual Hospices wine auction is a highlight of French wine culture. Burgundy wines from the Hospice de Beaune stand for sustainability, authenticity and centuries-old craftsmanship.

Origin in Focus

Burgundy

The Burgundy (Bourgogne) wine region is shaped by small parcels and historic vineyards. The focus here is on two grape varieties – Pinot Noir and Chardonnay – which reflect soil, climate and craftsmanship with exceptional transparency.

Between Dijon and Mâcon, a narrow band of vineyards stretches for around 250 km, each with its own distinctive character.
