Domaine de la Commaraine is just outside the village center of Pommard and is an outstanding winery in every respect with a beautiful château . The purchase of the idyllic winery by Americans Denise Dupré and Mark Nunelly in 2017 made headlines because, although Pommard has a long historical presence, it was overlooked by wine collectors for many years. Today, Pommard casts a spell over fine wine collectors. The walled vineyard, shielded from external influences, is ideal for biodynamic viticulture and is now managed accordingly. After the first vintage of 2018, the 2019 is a more than worthy successor - a fantastically successful wine with an extremely limited harvest.
