Domaine des Comtes Lafon

Domaine des Comtes Lafon in Meursault belongs to the absolute elite of Burgundy and is legendary for powerful yet incredibly precise white wines. Its partly biodynamically farmed sites in Meursault, Puligny-Montrachet and Montrachet root in limestone- and marl-rich soils, giving the wines density, tension and pronounced minerality. Lafon Chardonnays combine ripe yellow fruit, fine nutty and buttery notes with cool freshness and great depth of focus. Long barrel ageing, low yields and meticulous handwork in the vineyard create wines with enormous ageing potential. The red Volnay wines also show finesse, silkiness and terroir-driven clarity. Comtes Lafon stands for iconic, complex Burgundies of the highest ambition.

Origin in Focus

Burgundy

The Burgundy (Bourgogne) wine region is shaped by small parcels and historic vineyards. The focus here is on two grape varieties – Pinot Noir and Chardonnay – which reflect soil, climate and craftsmanship with exceptional transparency.

Between Dijon and Mâcon, a narrow band of vineyards stretches for around 250 km, each with its own distinctive character.
