Description
Australia / South Australia / Barossa Valley
Chris Ringland is one of Australia's most renowned winemakers. He is affectionately known by other winemakers as the "King of Shiraz". In 1994, he purchased a small vineyard in the Barossa Valley, located 550 meters above sea level, with some vines over 100 years old. In this Mediterranean climate, he vinifies a distinctive Shiraz that invariably impresses lovers of big, powerful wines. Due to the very limited production and the high quality of the wine, he and his wines immediately became legendary. Robert M. Parker Jr. has often rated Ringland's Shiraz with 100 points and considers Ringland to be one of the world's greatest Syrah producers. Chris Ringland's three great wines are called "Dimchurch", "Hoffmann Vineyard" and "Three Rivers".
