Description

Australia / South Australia / Barossa Valley

Michael Twelftree founded his winery, Two Hands, in 1999 with the goal of highlighting the diversity of Australian Shiraz. Michael makes no compromises in this pursuit. He selects and processes only the best quality grapes and separately vinifies the wine from each parcel, no matter how small. In doing so, he focuses on the regional differences of the vineyards and impressively demonstrates how complex and diverse Australian Shiraz can be. The Barossa Valley is known for powerful Shiraz, with great fruit intensity and concentration, endowed with firm, ripe tannins and the ability to age. The red color on the Bella's Garden label reflects the red soils of the western ranges of the Barossa, where Two Hands' best vineyards are located.

Two Hands Wines

Two Hands Wines is one of Australia’s defining Shiraz producers and is based in the Barossa Valley. The idea is to show the different faces of Australian Shiraz – from Barossa and Eden Valley to McLaren Vale and Heathcote. To achieve this, the team works with selected parcels and partner vineyards, vinifies each origin separately and bottles them in clearly defined ranges such as the Picture Series and Garden Series.

Stylistically, dense ripe fruit such as blackberry, plum and blueberry, dark spice, chocolate and fine roasted notes are at the forefront, always carried by juicy texture and surprising freshness. The skilled use of mostly French, partly American oak adds depth without masking the fruit. Alongside more opulent Barossa Shiraz, there are cooler, more tightly structured versions from higher-altitude or maritime regions. Ideal for customers seeking characterful, modern Australian wines with a clear terroir profile.
