Jean-Michel Comme has been managing Château Pontet-Canet since 1989. Together with wine legend Alfred Tesseron, he completely changed both the vineyard and the identity of Château Pontet-Canet. The restart succeeded by leaving conventional viticulture techniques behind in order to apply organic and biodynamic methods. As a result, the soils of the vineyards have recovered and the terroir is showing its original condition again. The vines seem liberated and the quality of the grapes has never been so excellent. Pontet-Canet wines have evolved to such an extent that they are now among the most prestigious in Bordeaux.
