Château L'If 2017
Description
Description
Château L'If was bought in 2010 by Jacques Thienpont, who also owns the famous Château Le Pin. Le Pin got its name from the lone pine tree on the property. In homage to their winery in Pomerol, Château L'If also took inspiration for its name from a tree. L'If freely translated means yew tree. After purchasing the property, a lot of work was put into the vineyard with the aim of increasing the percentage of Cabernet Franc in the vineyards. Until the newly planted vines are old enough to produce wine at the level the château aspires to, annual wine production will be very low and wine difficult to come by.
