Château L'If 2016
Description
Description
Château L'If was acquired in 2010 by Jacques Thienpont, who also owns the renowned Château Le Pin. Le Pin got its name from the solitary pine tree on the estate. In homage to their Pomerol estate, Château L'If also drew inspiration for its name from a tree. "L'If" loosely translates to "yew tree." After purchasing the estate, significant work was invested in the vineyard with the aim of increasing the Cabernet Franc proportion in the vineyards. Until the newly planted vines are old enough to produce wine at the quality level desired by the Château, the annual wine production will be very small, and the wine will consequently be difficult to obtain.
