Description

France / Bordeaux / Saint-Julien

Château Léoville‑Las Cases 2022 is one of the most monumental wines of the vintage – extremely dense, precise and aristocratic. The nose is dominated by cassis, black cherry, blackberry, graphite, violet and a pure mineral depth. On the palate, it shows enormous concentration, ultra-fine, taut tannins and an almost endless length. The intensity is impressive, yet remains laser-focused and wonderfully harmonious. A powerful, iconic Saint‑Julien – and one of the "Wines of the Vintage."

Château Leoville Las Cases

Château Léoville Las Cases is regarded as one of the most important estates of the Médoc and is widely seen as regularly performing at Premier Cru level. The heart of the estate lies in the famous Clos near Château Latour, where deep gravel soils over clay and limestone provide perfect drainage, structure and enormous longevity. Cabernet Sauvignon clearly dominates, complemented by Merlot and Cabernet Franc, producing intense, dense yet highly precise wines marked by cassis, graphite, cedarwood and an iconic, finely woven tannin structure. Strict selection, parcel work and an uncompromising commitment to quality shape wines that are among the longest-lived, most complex and most impressive on the Left Bank.

Origin in Focus

Bordeaux

Bordeaux is one of the world’s most renowned wine regions – a name that has stood for elegance, diversity and ageing potential for centuries. Gravel, clay and limestone soils alternate, allowing fine nuances in the wines that reflect both terroir and craftsmanship.

Bordeaux is typically known for blends in which grape varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc work together harmoniously.

Stylistically, red Bordeaux wines are defined by a balance of fruit, structure and freshness. The white wines – usually made from Sauvignon Blanc, Sémillon and sometimes Muscadelle – range from crisp and citrus-driven to creamy and complex.
