Château Lascombes 2016
Description
Description
France / Bordeaux / Médoc / Margaux
From the 17th century to the present day, ten owners have left their mark on the history of Château Lascombes, many of whom paid little attention to the estate. Colony Capital, an American pension fund, acquired the property in 2001 and invested 35 million euros over 9 years, which was used for a fundamental renovation of the winery and vineyards. In earlier years, Lascombes was a serious competitor to the nearby Premier Cru Château Margaux, and the quality is now clearly moving back in that direction. The scattered plots of Château Lascombes lie on a mosaic of soil types, resulting in a remarkably complex and balanced wine.
