Château Lafite Rothschild 2021
Description
Description
France / Bordeaux / Médoc / Pauillac
Baron James de Rothschild acquired the Château at an auction at the end of the 19th century, and it has been family-owned ever since. The wines produced here are among the best and most expensive red wines in the world, and this with impressive consistency. Lafite Rothschild, the epitome of an elegant, powerful Bordeaux, can be aged in the bottle for decades. The secret to its outstanding quality is, among other things, the soil – deep gravel beds on limestone – the age of the vines, the yield restriction of 40 to 45 hectoliters per hectare, and the correct timing of the harvest. After fermentation, every single barrel is inspected and tasted, and only the very best are used for the Grand Vin.
