Château Gazin

Château Gazin is one of the most traditional estates on the Pomerol plateau and lies immediately next to great names such as Pétrus and L’Évangile. The property comprises around 26 hectares of contiguous vineyards – a rarity in Pomerol – rooted mainly in the famous crasse de fer, an iron-rich clay layer. This terroir gives the wines their typical depth, warmth and aromatic complexity.

The focus is clearly on Merlot, complemented by Cabernet Franc and some Cabernet Sauvignon, which gives Gazin a particularly structured and long-lived style within Pomerol. The de Bailliencourt dit Courcol family has run the château for generations, combining traditional vinification with modern precision.

Château Gazin is known for elegant, finely nuanced yet powerful Pomerols that are accessible in youth but can age beautifully for decades.
