The 2016 Gazin is medium to deep garnet-purple in colour and displays a wonderfully flavoured nose of violet, Ceylon tea, cigar box, sandalwood and fallen leaves over a core of plum jam, kirsch and blackberry jam plus a hint of anise. Medium-bodied and elegant, with convincing restraint, it has a seductively soft texture and a finish full of balance, flavour and persistence.
