"The 2017 Cos d'Estournel reveals beautiful aromas of plums, boysenberries, blackcurrant pastilles and wild blueberries with hints of Indian spices, menthol, lilac and mossy tree bark, as well as a convincing hint of iron ore. On the palate it is medium to full-bodied, with a solid backbone of firm, grainy tannins and a well-integrated freshness that supports the concentrated fruit layers, and finishes long and aromatic."

Louis Gaspard d'Estournel inherited Cos d'Estournel in 1791. Convinced that the hill's terroir was exceptional, Louis acquired the neighboring plots to expand his estate to 45 hectares.

The Bordeaux Classification of 1855 classified Cos d'Estournel as a Deuxième Cru. The owner since 2000 has been Michel Reybier.

The wines of Cos d'Estournel are characterized by their depth, complexity and elegance. They arepraised for their ability to evolve over timeand gain depth and character. Cos d'Estournel also produces a second wine called "Les Pagodes de Cos", which is also of high quality.
