William Kelley for Robert Parker
The 2008 Dom Pérignon offers a lovely bouquet of Anjou pear, fresh peach, citrus oil, fresh pastry, smoke and iodine. The palate is full-bodied and incisive, with an elegant, structured attack and a creamy fruit core underpinned by a bright, well-integrated freshness. The finish is long, salty and well-defined. This is the best Dom Pérignon since 1996. Richard Geoffroy's pursuit of extra maturity harmonizes well with the late-ripening, fresh-focused vintage.
