The 2016 Siepi is a lush and soft wine bursting with dark berry intensity. The fruit is compact and dense. This wine shows wonderful aromas and the mouthfeel is particularly fine and elegant. The dark fruit is followed by spices, tar, rosebuds and pronounced mineral notes reminiscent of the gravelly and chalky soils of Chianti Classico. This is perhaps the best vintage of Siepi I have tasted to date.
