The Mazzei family has been producing wines of impressive quality for 24 generations. From the 2017 vintage, the winegrowing family decided to express the biodiversity of their terroirs by developing three Chianti Classico Gran Selezione separately, each with their own characteristics. Vicoregio is a complex cuvée of 36 Sangiovese clones, all grown in an experimental vineyard in Castelnuovo Berardenga, on a very sunny plateau at 350 meters above sea level, on alberese and sandstone soils. The result is an avant-garde Chianti Classico Gran Selezione, where Sangiovese is expressed in the warmest version, with intensity, richness of color and pronounced bouquet.
