Expansion: The wine matures for a total of five years, hence the name "5º". In the first year, it is aged in oak barrels, using 75% French and 25% American oak. In the second year, the wine is aged in large wooden vats to promote elegance and complexity.

Ribera del Duero

Ribera del Duero in Castile and León is one of Spain’s top regions for powerful red wines. At its heart is Tempranillo, known here as ‘Tinto Fino’, which ripens on high plateaus with large day-night temperature differences. The continental climate and calcareous, sandy-loamy soils produce deeply coloured wines with ripe fruit, firm structure and lively acidity. Stylistically, the spectrum ranges from fresh, fruit-driven Crianzas to complex, long-lived Reservas and Gran Reservas, often aged in oak. The result: character, concentration and elegance with excellent ageing potential.
