Description
France / Bordeaux / Pomerol
Located in the heart of the famous Pomerol plateau, Vieux Château Certan has been owned by the renowned Thienpont family of winemakers since 1924. Alexandre Thienpont began replanting the vineyards in 1985 and continuously improving the quality of the winemaking. In addition, his wines benefit from the unusual and probably best terroir of Pomerol. Gravel soil interspersed with clay on a ferrous limestone background allows wines with an aroma and elegance to emerge that, in large vintages, are among the best Bordeaux wines of all time. If you consider the price-enjoyment ratio of all Pomerol wines, Vieux Certan today ends up with great regularity on the front seats.
