Description
Description
France / Bordeaux / Pomerol
Located in the heart of the famous Pomerol plateau, Vieux Château Certan has been owned by the renowned Thienpont winemaking family since 1924. Alexandre Thienpont began replanting the vineyards in 1985 and continuously improving the quality of winemaking. In addition, his wines benefit from the unusual and probably best terroir of Pomerol. Clayey gravel soil on an iron-rich limestone base produces wines with an aroma and elegance that, in great vintages, are among the best Bordeaux wines of all. Considering the price-pleasure ratio of all Pomerol wines, Vieux Certan regularly ranks among the top today.
