The 2019 Vie di Romans Chardonnay shows aromas of ripe, yellow fruits such as quince, apple, mango and pineapple, accompanied by nutty notes as well as honey, vanilla and brioche. On the palate it is medium-bodied to full-bodied, very harmonious and balanced, with a delicate, melting elegance. The complex fruit aromas are complemented by herbal notes and a hint of anise. A perfect balance of freshness, light wood notes and fine minerality accompanies the long, aromatic finish.

Vie di Romans is an outstanding winery in the Friuli Venezia Giulia region of north-eastern Italy. The winery has earned a reputation for producing exquisite wines that reflect the unique terroirs of this region.

The Gallo family has been closely linked to winemaking for over 100 years. Gianfranco, who has managed the family winery since 1978, has established himself as a grand master of white wines from Friuli.

Gianfranco Gallo produces exclusively single-vineyard wines with extremely high quality standards. His wines are among the absolute best. 

The Vie di Romans vineyards extend over about 55 hectares and are located in the hills of Mariano del Friuli, near the Slovenian border. The soils here are composed of calcareous clay and are particularly suitable for the cultivation of grape varieties such as Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio, Merlot and Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso.
