Description

Vie di Romans Chardonnay Friuli Isonzo 2022
Italy / Friuli-Venezia Giulia / Isonzo del Friuli DOC

A powerful yet elegant Chardonnay from the Friuli-Isonzo region. The 2022 "Ciampagnis" offers intense aromas of exotic fruits like pineapple and mango, along with notes of yellow pears, salty citrus freshness, and herbs. Vie di Romans

Vie di Romans from Mariano del Friuli is one of Friuli’s leading estates and is known for expressive, long-lived white wines. The warm yet wind-exposed climate of the Isonzo plain enables optimal ripening, while cool nights preserve freshness. Soils of gravel, sand and mineral-rich alluvial sediments give the wines clear structure and complex aromatics. Chardonnay, Friulano, Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Grigio develop remarkable depth, creamy texture and precise minerality here. Vie di Romans is characterised by late harvesting, low yields and deliberate barrel work, resulting in complex, concentrated yet elegant wines. The estate is regarded as a benchmark for premium white wines from Friuli.

Origin in Focus

Friuli

Friuli is regarded as a stronghold of elegant white wines. Between the Alps and the Adriatic, cool nights and mild days create aromatic, precise styles from varieties such as Friulano, Sauvignon, Pinot Grigio and Ribolla Gialla. Tradition and innovation meet here: from classically clear vinifications to characterful orange wines and refined sparkling wines.
