Description

Chile / Aconcagua Valley

The Chilean winery Viña Seña was born from the collaboration between winemaking legend Robert Mondavi and Eduardo Chadwick, one of Chile's most respected winemakers. Both recognized the potential of the wine region in the Aconcagua Valley and began establishing and sustainably cultivating a vineyard in a cool location at the foot of the almost 7,000-meter-high Aconcagua mountain. Here they produce the fresh, elegant cult wine Seña, which, especially since the sensational Berlin Tasting in 2004, is considered one of the best wines in the world. For this blind tasting, 36 of Europe's most renowned wine experts gathered to blindly taste 16 wines and awarded Seña second place, even ahead of Château Lafite-Rothschild.

Viña Seña

The Chilean estate Viña Seña was created in 1995 as a joint venture between winemaking legend Robert Mondavi and Eduardo Chadwick, one of Chile’s most respected wine producers.

Both recognised the potential of the Aconcagua Valley and began establishing and sustainably cultivating a vineyard in a cool site at the foot of the nearly 7,000-metre-high Mount Aconcagua. The location offers optimal conditions for producing quality wines, including a diversity of soils, an ideal climate and abundant sunshine.

Here they produce the fresh, elegant cult wine Seña, which has counted among the best wines in the world at least since the sensational Berlin Tasting in 2004. At this blind tasting, 36 of Europe’s most respected wine experts gathered to taste 16 wines blind and awarded Seña second place, ahead of Château Lafite Rothschild.

Since 2005, the estate has been 100% owned by the Chadwick family.
