Description

Austria / Southern Styria

Armin Tement took over the family winery in 2008 and made it the number one in Austria. With meticulous and uncompromising work in the vineyard and cellar, he and his brother produce wines that are among the best in the world. The grape variety known as Chardonnay in all other wine-growing regions is only called "Morillon" in Styria. Selective hand harvesting and long yeast contact wonderfully express the terroir. Through slow and gentle maturation in large, neutral oak barrels, complex aromas develop. The organic estate wines are the liquid business card of the family winery.

Neumeister Winery

Neumeister in Vulkanland Styria is one of Austria's leading estates for precise, terroir-driven wines of origin. On cool, lean sites around Straden, the winery produces distinctive Sauvignon Blanc in particular, alongside Morillon, Pinot Gris and elegant sparkling wines with impressive tension. Careful manual work in the vineyard, low yields and restrained cellar practices clearly express the character of the steep sites. The result is wines of great finesse, minerality and ageing potential – perfect for connoisseurs seeking authentic, layered fine wines.

Origin in Focus

Styria

Styria in southern Austria is a cool, hilly wine region with strong Alpine and Adriatic influences – ideal for fragrant, precise white wines. The focus is on Sauvignon Blanc, Welschriesling, Gelber Muskateller and Chardonnay. These varieties produce crystal-clear, vibrant wines with a strong sense of origin that pair perfectly with modern, light cuisine.
