Description

Austria / Southern Styria / Ried Zieregg

Ried Zieregg is one of the Grand Crus of the Tement family winery. The vineyard is characterized by coral limestone soils, calcareous marl, a unique microclimate, and 40-year-old vines. The clear signature of the talented winemaker Armin Tement and the unmistakable connection to the terroir distinguish the Zieregg. The Tement family switched to organic viticulture 10 years ago. However, the 2018 vintage is the first certified organic vintage. In the cellar, the winemaker gives the wine time. Spontaneous fermentation, gentle maturation, and bottling unfiltered create wines that impressively showcase their origin.

Lackner-Tinnacher Winery

Lackner-Tinnacher in Gamlitz is one of the quieter but style-defining estates of Southern Styria. Family-run for generations, the winery is firmly committed to biodynamic farming, old vines and selective manual work in often steep hillside vineyards. The focus is on Sauvignon Blanc, Morillon, Muskateller, Riesling and Burgundy varieties, which develop a cool, lean and highly precise style here. Restraint rules in the cellar: gentle pressing, slow fermentation, extended lees ageing and careful use of wood allow the origin to speak rather than the technique. Lackner-Tinnacher wines combine clarity and finesse with understated depth – ideal for wine lovers seeking elegant, distinctive Southern Styrian wines.
