Domaine Roc de l'Abbaye

This domaine based in Meursault farms parcels from Beaune to Maranges and is regarded as a reliable name for modern yet clearly terroir-driven Burgundy. Around 60 percent of production is white varieties, with a focus on Chardonnay from Meursault, Chassagne-Montrachet and Puligny-Montrachet; the remaining 40 percent is Pinot Noir from appellations such as Volnay, Beaune and Maranges. In the vineyard, meticulous canopy and yield work is central, and grapes are selectively hand harvested. In the cellar, Xavier Monnot combines precise, clean vinification with carefully measured oak use: enough barrique for structure and complexity without masking origin. The white wines show ripe citrus and stone fruit, buttery-nutty nuances and saline minerality, while the reds offer aromas of cherry, red berries and fine spices with silky tannins. Ideal for customers seeking elegant, reliable Côte de Beaune Burgundy with development potential.

Origin in Focus

Burgundy

The Burgundy (Bourgogne) wine region is shaped by small parcels and historic vineyards. The focus here is on two grape varieties – Pinot Noir and Chardonnay – which reflect soil, climate and craftsmanship with exceptional transparency.

Between Dijon and Mâcon, a narrow band of vineyards stretches for around 250 km, each with its own distinctive character.
